语法隐喻在古诗英译中的应用研究 ——《红楼梦》中诗歌《葬花辞》的个案分析

韩礼德构建系统功能语法的目的之一就是为语篇分析提供一个分析框架。语法隐喻理论是韩礼德系统功能语法理论的一个重要组成部分。目前国内已有很多学者将语法隐喻理论应用于科技语篇和新闻等语篇的研究,或将中英文语篇进行对比分析研究,验证了系统功能语法及语法隐喻对于语篇分析的可操作性;然而对于古诗英译这一领域的研究还很少。黄国文成功地将韩礼德系统功能语法理论运用到古诗英译这一领域,分别从三大元功能和语境等角度进行了尝试分析,探索了语言学应用于翻译研究的新领域,但还未尝试运用语法隐喻分析古诗。本文拟从语法隐喻理论入手,对古诗英译进行尝试研究。中国古诗词是中华文明的艺术精华,是中国人民智慧的结晶。随着国际文化交流的深入,它成为了世界人民共有的财富,这使古诗英译研究具有了重要意义。简洁性是古诗的一大特点,语言含蓄凝练,内涵深刻,隐喻现象普遍存在,成为隐喻研究的重要领域。而作为中国四大古典名著之一的《红楼梦》代表了古代文学著作的最高成就,为全世界所瞩目;其中诗词更是经典之作,是小说不可缺少的重要组成部分,推动了情节的发展。本文以系统功能语言学框架下的语法隐喻理论为基础,结合语境理论,以中国古典名著《红楼梦》中女主人公林黛玉的代表作《葬花辞》这首诗及杨宪益夫妇﹑霍克斯和许渊冲对此诗的三种英译文为语料,进行语篇对比分析,试图发现并探索解决译诗中出现的问题,同时验证此理论对于古诗英译研究的可应用性和可操作性并提供新的研究视角,为翻译研究带来一些思索和启示。本文共分五章,第一章对论文作了总体介绍,包括论文的研究目的和方法;第二章是理论回顾,综述中国古诗的特点和译诗中的争议,以及国内相关诗歌翻译理论,并介绍相关的将系统功能语法应用于翻译研究的理论成果;第三章主要介绍了本文的理论基础─韩礼德语法隐喻理论体系及应用;第四章首先介绍语料来源并对语料进行语境分析;然后对语料进行语法隐喻分析,主要从概念隐喻和语气隐喻方面对典型诗句的译文进行对比分析,指出并探索解决译诗中出现的问题;第五章是结论。
