论在英语课堂中如何提高英语听力

论文摘要

听力无论是在英语交际中还是在英语语言学习中都十分重要,但很多学生的英语听力却不能达到课程的要求。他们的英语听力低下表现在不能听辨音素及单词,不能理解句子及语篇;他们中很多人不能积极地采用适当的听力策略来帮助听力理解,并且缺乏必要的理解听力材料的背景知识,同时学生本身对听力的焦虑等负面的情感,导致了听力水平的不理想。很多英语教师、专家和学者都认为这个问题亟待解决,为此他们进行了大量的研究和实验。迄今为止,在心理语言学、听力策略和听力教学方面得出了许多有建设性的研究成果。如在心理语言学方面,外国学者David?W.?Carroll,Dwight?Bolinger,?我国学者桂诗春、彭聃龄等详细地研究了语言的理解过程。在听力策略方面,许多外国的学者如Oxford,?Chamot,国内的学者如文秋芳,程晓堂、潘淑敏等对学习策略进行了分类和研究。就听力教学而言,Michael?Rost,?Penny?Ur等,?为听力的教学提供了可行的方法和建议。在前人研究成果的基础上,本论文的作者将她的研究结果应用于教学实践中以帮助学生提高听力。为此,作者先回顾了英语学习中的听力的本质、特点及听力过程,总结出听力是听者对接收的声学信号利用自身的语言知识和背景知识进行积极地构建意义的复杂的心理过程。听力过程分为对音的听辨、对单词的听辨、对句子的理解以及对语篇的理解;然后作者探究了影响听力理解的因素,分为语言的影响因素和非语言的影响因素,前者即学生对语言本身的熟悉程度、后者是运用必要的听力策略、相关的背景知识以及情感因素;最后作者试图从提高学生对语言的熟悉度,培训必要的听力策略,丰富背景知识以及处理好学生的情感因素等方面来提高学习者的听力水平。
