用关联理论阐述认知语境对隐喻理解的作用 ——以美国新闻为例

隐喻在语言中是一种普遍现象。隐喻从认知方面进行研究是当代语言学研究的一个重要组成部分,隐喻理解又是隐喻研究中的一个焦点。尽管不少学者对隐喻理解的研究做了许多有益的探索,但迄今为止,对隐喻理解的研究仍缺乏权威性的理论作为指导。本文旨在把隐喻作为研究的对象,以美国新闻为例,运用关联理论对认知语境的阐述探讨认知语境对隐喻理解的作用。关联理论奠定了认知语用学的基础,对隐喻有很强的阐释力。关联理论在传统语境的基础上发展了认知语境这一概念。本文以关联理论从认知语境角度阐述了隐喻含义理解的过程,即隐喻理解过程就是受众根据相关原则,以最小的加工努力在自己的认知语境中选择最具语境效果的假设,来推导出话语或语篇的隐含意义,隐喻理解的过程也即认知语境的选择过程。研究关联理论中的明示-推理交际模式、语境效果、认知原则等关键要素能提高人们对语境的认知能力,有助于隐喻的理解。本文将隐喻根据认知作用,句法特点进行分类,从认知语境的动态影响的角度研究隐喻理解机制,以美国新闻为例,揭示隐喻理解的本质,从而扩大了关联理论在语用中的应用范围,具体分析和阐述了认知语境对隐喻理解的作用。
