翻译研究中的伦理性问题 ——西方当代伦理学的发展与译学研究

论文摘要

所谓“伦理性”是指人类社会中人与人之间关系与行为的秩序规范。它不仅涉及同一民族、同一文化中人类关系问题,同时指涉不同文化之间的关系。翻译是一项历史悠久的文化交流活动,只要不同民族、不同国家之间发生跨文化的交往行为,就不可避免地产生伦理问题;翻译的本质属性决定了翻译活动和翻译研究需要伦理学的指导。考察中西方翻译思想史,我们发现,从翻译研究的语文学范式、结构主义范式到解构主义范式,翻译理论研究深受伦理学理论的滋养。本文首先简单介绍了一下国内外伦理理论的研究现状,然后从两种基本的道德思维模式入手重点阐释伦理学的本体内涵:并从历史的角度梳理及分析西方当代伦理思想的发展和演变。接着在前人研究翻译中的伦理性问题的基础上,从翻译的本质属性入手阐明进行翻译伦理研究的必要性。本着以史为鉴的原则,文章分析了西方当代伦理思想发展对翻译研究的影响,对以前的译学研究范式尤其是其不足进行了阐释:语文学研究范式受非理性伦理思想的影响,片面夸大自我的主体灵性,具有自我中心主义倾向;结构主义语言学研究范式受结构主义简化伦理思想的影响,没有表现出对他者的尊重,具有文化霸权主义及狭隘民族中心主义倾向;解构主义研究范式受后结构主义他者伦理思想的影响,过度夸大了他者的权威。指出三种译学研究范式都是独白式道德思维模式的必然产物。最后,文章就如何合理的借鉴伦理学理论进行了尝试性的探索,指出应该以哈贝马斯的对话式的商谈伦理思想为基础,建立翻译伦理学这一新概念,从内部研究以及外部研究出发,阐释翻译伦理学的基本内涵,以促进译学研究全面而深入的展开。
