从传播过程角度看报刊新词英译的归化和异化

进入21世纪以来,媒体在人们生活中发挥着越来越重要的作用,它为世界各国的人们提供渠道去了解其他国家的文化,习俗以及最新动态等等。在当今信息时代,报刊作为大众传播的一个有效媒介,为国家,社会以及个人提供可靠及时的资讯。改革开放政策以来,中国经历了日新月异的多样化发展。社会文化的迅猛发展也折射在词汇层面。作为信息传递的工具,报刊中产生并使用了大量的新词,内容涉及政治、经济、军事、科技以及教育、文化、娱乐、健康等各个方面。新闻翻译,尤其是报刊新词的翻译为中国与其他国家的文化交流架构了桥梁,促进了中国现代化的发展。然而虽然大部分译文翻译语法准确,但有一些译文仍然稍嫌晦涩、不流畅,并影响到传播效果。在报刊新词翻译中常常出现的主要问题有:回译不恰当,文化内涵模糊,中式英语表达等等。所以,有必要对新闻新词的翻译策略进行更深层次的探讨。在翻译学界,不少学者对归化和异化理论进行了研究,并就此展开了讨论。但是,之前对归化和异化理论的研究很少是从传播过程这一角度出发的。本文认为翻译过程事实上是一种特殊的传播过程,对于翻译的研究也可以从传播过程这一角度来进行探讨。本文从传播过程这一角度来分析归化和异化在新闻新词翻译过程中的应用,希望藉此为传播学与翻译学的交叉学科研究做出贡献。本文首先将依次介绍归化和异化理论在西方国家以及在中国的发展,新闻新词翻译的特点。之后,通过文本分析,作者将从传播过程这一角度来分析归化异化在新闻新词翻译过程中的应用。通过本文,作者希望提高新词翻译的质量,并且为归化异化的研究提供一个新的角度。
