论文摘要
简·奥斯丁的小说是世界文学史中的瑰宝,历来吸引国内外学者的研究兴趣,然而,鲜有学者从语言学的角度对其进行研究。本文尝试以评价理论的态度子系统和级差子系统为指导,探索《理智与情感》中丰富的人际意义。本文以《理智与情感》为个案,选取小说中可以反映姐妹俩对三个男主人公评价的11个对话片段为语料。通过对语料中的态度性评价资源的分析,旨在探索两姐妹对三个男主人公的态度变化以及他们相互之间的关系以此说明评价理论为小说文本人际意义的研究提供了理想的分析框架同时对小说文本从语言特别是词汇层面塑造人物形象起到了不可或缺的作用。通过分析和研究发现：(1)评价性词汇的运用可以间接反映人物的性格特征。例如,对待同一件事情,感情丰富的人关注自身的内心感受,因此表达情感性的词汇就非常丰富。而理智的人不太表露自己的情感,因此表达判断和鉴赏性的词汇就比较丰富,对别人多采用正面评价。(2)评价性词汇运用的多寡不仅可以反映说话者对人物事件态度的强烈程度而且可以揭示人物的心理特征,同时这些心理特征又可以通过评价性词汇运用的多寡显示出来。通过研究,希望可以为这部小说的解读提供一个新角度,并为鉴赏奥斯丁作品提供一点帮助,也希望有利于评价理论的进一步发展应用。
