关联理论在科技英语翻译过程中的应用

科技领域日益繁多的国际交流使得科技英语翻译成为研究重点。然而,在这一领域,目前并没有广泛接受的指导性理论。本文尝试将语用学的关联理论与科技英语翻译实践结合起来研究科技英语翻译过程。关联理论是Sperber和Wilson提出的从认知角度研究交际的新的方法论。在关联理论框架内,翻译是一种跨文化、跨语言的以译者为中心的动态的示意—推理过程,整个过程涉及到三个交际者:原作者、译者和译文读者。译者在关联理论的指导下,根据原文语境信息及关联原则推理原文作者的交际意图,结合读者的期待,决定译文内容和阐述方法,进行翻译。本文描述了译者的大脑信息处理机制如何促使他与原文作者和译文读者进行跨文化交际。旨在研究翻译过程中译者大脑思维的动态过程。本研究的范围涉及译者的跨文化思维能力和交际能力,译者在科技英语翻译过程中的角色和翻译过程的主要障碍,以及成功译文的标准。本文的主要目的是探索科技英语翻译中体现的关联理论思想以及关联理论对科技英语翻译的解释和指导作用。本文以Sperber和Wilson的关联理论为理论基础,借鉴了Gutt的关联理论翻译观,以及Verschueren的顺应理论,利用问卷调查和试验的数据细致深入的分析了科技英语翻译中语言的理解过程和产生过程,阐明了关联性是人类的认知活动的基础,以及在语言的产生和理解中语言选择和语境资源的选择是相互顺应的观点,并总结归纳了科技英语翻译的特点—关联性和顺应性。
