中学生外语课堂焦虑现状及其与教师行为关系的研究

早期国内外有关外语教学的研究主要集中于学习者语言学习的认知领域。从二十世纪六十年代起,人们开始关注情感因素在语言学习中的作用。数十年的研究结果显示,情感因素在学习者语言学习过程中扮演着重要的角色。语言焦虑是情感因素中的一个重要因素,受环境和各种情境影响,是一种特殊形式的焦虑。大多数研究表明,语言焦虑不利于个体的语言学习,在语言学习过程中起消极作用。语言焦虑形成的原因很多,其中教师行为是一个重要因素。目前就教师行为与学习者语言焦虑形成的相关性研究不多,在仅有的研究中,从中学教师角度进行研究的成果少之又少。中学阶段是学习者英语语言认知结构形成的关键时期,而英语语言认知结构的形成又与学习情感因素紧密相关。所以,研究教师课堂教学行为与学生语言焦虑关系就显得十分必要。本研究采用定性研究与定量研究相结合的方法,通过问卷调查、访谈、课堂观察以及课堂录像等手段,广泛地收集了相关研究数据和信息。通过对这些数据和信息的分析,得出以下结论。一是外语学习焦虑普遍存在于初中学生中,对中学生英语学习产生很大的负面影响。教育者如果不加以控制,语言焦虑将会随外语学习时间的变长而更加严重。二是在众多引起外语学习焦虑产生的因素中,教师在课堂上的不当行为是关键因素。本研究表明,中学英语教师必须关注语言焦虑对学生英语语言认知的影响,尤其是在激发学生学习热情方面的作用。教师要优化课堂教学行为,促进学生积极情感的萌发。另外,学生也要学会在不同学习环境下调节自我学习情感的能力。最后,学校和教育管理机构应该设法为学生语言学习营造良好的氛围。
