西藏地区大学生英语学习动机的现状调查

论文摘要

本研究旨在通过对西藏地区大学生英语学习动机的调查,发现学生学习动机中存在的问题,进一步分析出现问题的原因和影响因素,为西藏地区大学生外语学习及外语教学工作提供相关理论和实证依据。本研究采用问卷调查和访谈的方法获得研究资料。通过数据和分析来了解西藏地区大学生英语学习动机的现状和导致的原因。根据研究中掌握的数据,研究者发现:1.这一地区的大部分学生英语学习动机低,缺乏自信心并且课堂上出现过度焦虑情绪。他们的英语学习仅仅停留在能够通过英语考试,考出好成绩以及为了找份好工作等这样的外部动机上,而很少受到内部动机的驱动。2.导致这一地区英语学习动机现状的因素有很多,其主要的有如下几点因素:西藏地区英语教育环境的落后,尤其是英语和汉语在语法和句法上又存在着很大的不同,使得英语学习中产生了负迁移现象,致使藏族学生在英语学习方面面临更大的困难,如此的困难给藏族大学生的英语学习造成了重大的影响。3.藏语和汉语发音的负迁移现象以及印度英语的非标准的英语发音给西藏地区学生英语的正确发音带来的干扰,使得藏族学生对于英语的学习失去了自信心。因此,降低了他们对英语学习的兴趣以及英语学习的内部动机。4.英语教师是影响学生英语学习动机的又一主要因素。藏族英语专业教师的缺乏影响着西藏地区学生英语学习的现状。在西藏地区,大多数英语教师是汉族教师,并且他们几乎没有接受过系统地有关课堂教学技巧等相关知识的培训,他们并不清楚如何有效地对藏族学生进行英语教学。这些非藏族英语教师使用汉语进行授课,然而汉语在西藏地区同样是藏族学生学习的另一门语言,使用一种自己还未熟练的语言去学习英语,无疑会使学生的英语学习面临很大的困难。这样的课堂教学使得许多藏族学生失去了学习英语的动机,尤其是英语学习的内部动机方面。本研究的局限是没有提及课程在学习动机中起的作用,采用的样本不能保证代表全体西藏地区的大学生,以及在这一地区所做的研究甚少,文献极其有限。
