高中英语词汇学习及其策略探究

词汇是学习一门语言的基础,词汇量的大小,对于一个外语学习者的外语水平有着直接的影响。词汇学习策略的选用对其学习有很大影响。近年来,词汇学习策略在国内开始受到重视。国内的很多学者先后研究了大学生和研究生的词汇学习策略。目前,国内对高中生词汇学习策略的研究还不多。高中生,在英语水平和认知发展阶段上具有不同于成年人的特征,这些差异决定了他们使用的词汇学习策略也具有自己的特征。研究他们使用的词汇策略,一方面,可以帮助学生和教师提高策略意识;另一方面,可以对学生的词汇学习和教师的教学提供指导。本研究将对象定位于高二学生。通过呈现高中英语词汇学习存在的问题,研究高二学生英语词汇学习策略使用情况,为如何在将来的教学中有意对学生进行策略培训提供参考。本研究通过对来自抚顺两所中学的228名高二学生问卷和对32名学生访谈的方式,针对他们使用的英语词汇学习策略进行了调查和研究。研究结果表明:研究对象使用的词汇学习策略包括社会、认知、记忆、元认知四类策略。其中,认知策略使用最多,社会策略使用最少;研究的对象倾向于使用对认知水平要求不高的词汇学习策略,他们还喜欢使用方便的学习策略,学习缺乏主动性,,有依赖性。最后,根据高中学生英语词汇学习策略特点,提出对学生词汇学习策略的训练的几点建议,使学生们更有效地选择、使用策略并提高教学及学习质量。
