跨学科理论在三本口译教材中的应用分析

口译是一种通过口头表达形式,将所感知和理解的信息准确而又快速地由一种语言形式转换成另一种语言形式,进而达到完整并即时传递交流信息之目的的交际行为,是现代社会跨文化、跨民族交往的一种基本沟通方式。近几十年来,口译理论的研究取得了巨大的成就。然而,口译理论无法解答口译过程中产生的所有问题。因此,口译研究开始借助于其他学科的研究成果。Atkinson和Shiffrin的记忆理论,Gile的理解理论和交际理论是三种在口译研究中被应用得较早的跨学科理论。口译及其相关学科的发展推动了以口译为职业的口译员的快速发展。口译员应具备良好的记忆、理解及跨文化交际能力。而作为培养口译人才不可或缺的口译教材也应在编写中体现对跨学科理论的应用。本文选择国内三本权威口译教材,即由上海外语教育出版社出版的《新编英语口译教程》,《高级口译教程》和外文出版社出版的《英语口译实务》(三级),采用定性分析的方法对在口译研究中应用较广泛的跨学科理论,即记忆理论、理解理论及交际理论在这三本教材中的运用和体现进行描述和分析。首先,论文分析了记忆理论在三本口译教材中的应用,具体表现为典型表达方式、谚语口译、笔记技巧及数字口译四个方面。分析中发现,记忆典型表达方式及谚语可以扩大口译学习者的长时记忆容量,以此提高反应速度。掌握笔记技巧及数字口译技巧可以缓解短时记忆带来的压力,为口译提供帮助。其次,分析了理解理论在三本口译教材中的应用,具体表现为听力训练、言内知识及言外知识三个方面。分析中发现,良好的听力是口译过程中理解的前提。而丰富的言内知识和言外知识储备为正确理解源语提供了保证。最后,分析了交际理论在三本口译教材中的应用,具体表现为文化参考、与文化相关的表达方式、词义缺项及幽默笑话四个方面。分析中发现,文化因素在口译教材中的渗透无处不在。三本教材特别留意文化的广泛性及不对称性,并就口译中容易出错的文化问题进行了详细说明。综合分析后得出结论,三种跨学科理论在教材中得到了充分应用,其在对教材内容选择、练习编排、编写结构等方面都具有指导意义。作者同时指出了三本教材的不足,如教材练习形式略显单一;配套磁带未反映真实口译场景等。最后提出了对未来口译教材的展望,即更多跨学科理论应体现在未来口译教材中。
