译者主体性研究 ——兼议庞德翻译作品中译者主体性的体现

论文摘要

本文首先尝试对译者主体性理论进行系统全面的梳理,提出了译者主体性理论的要素,以及相关的支撑理论。虽然传统上翻译研究呈线型发展,但是在翻译研究出现文化转向之后,研究的视角更为广阔。翻译不再仅仅是简单地语言转换,而是一个涉及到多学科、多领域的复杂过程。许多学者从不同的视角对翻译进行不同侧面的研究,而许多理论,如操纵学派、目的论、阐释学、翻译研究学派、后现代理论等都与译者主体性理论有着紧密的联系。对译者主体性理论进行系统化的梳理变得相当必要。本文正是这样一种努力。首先,本文第一章论证了译者主体性出现的历史根源。有的学者声称在翻译史上译者主体总是处于蒙蔽状态,而实情却不尽然。在中西方翻译史上,译者的主体地位时而彰显时而隐匿,并非总受到蒙蔽或边缘化。毫无疑问,译者的主观能动性对翻译整个过程的影响是显而易见的。译者主体性理论尽管出现比较晚,却具有其深刻的历史根源。本文第二章提出了影响翻译行为的译者主体因素,包括译者所处时代及译者自身的意识形态、译者的翻译目的、对原文的理解过程、以及译者的个人能力等。译者的个人能力对翻译的影响自不待言,除此之外,每一个要素都得到相关理论的支持。不仅如此,许多理论如解构主义、后殖民主义、女性主义等对译者主体性理论给予支持,使得译者主体性理论的地位得到进一步确立。接着,作者在第三章中分析了译者主体性在庞德翻译的《华夏集》和儒家经典的译作中的体现,如意识形态对翻译的影响、译者翻译目的对其选材、策略的影响、译者独特的阐释方式等。庞德的译作尽管颇受争议,但从译者主体性的视角来分析却是无疑是合理的。
