英汉“死亡”隐喻认知对比

论文摘要

在不同的语言社会中,语言中的“死亡”隐喻有着特定的某种表达形式,它受人们价值观念的影响,有着深刻的文化背景。“死亡”隐喻的表达烙着文化的烙印,那么英汉“死亡”隐喻有什么共同与不同之处?是怎样的价值观和文化造就了英汉“死亡”隐喻的不同表达方式?由于以上提及的几个问题,本文试将概念隐喻作为理论框架归纳分析英汉“死亡”隐喻的表达进行分析和对比,并探讨英汉“死亡”隐喻表达的深层文化原因。本文首先在第一章对论文进行了简单介绍,接着在第二章回顾了国内外隐喻研究的发展历程,以及西方隐喻研究的五种主要理论：替代论,比较论,互动论,映射论以及概念合成论。第三章对认知语言学进行了简介,并介绍了莱考夫提出的概念隐喻理论的经验性基础、工作机制、特征与分类。第四章分别对英汉概念隐喻中的“死亡”隐喻进行了分析对比,发现其中的异同。第五章对英汉“死亡”隐喻的文化异同进行了探讨。最后在第六章中根据以上发现得出结论并提出了本文的局限与今后研究的建议。作者最后发现：一、英汉隐喻的表达都呈系统性,尽管有些源域的选择有所不同,但有着很大的相似性,且英汉“死亡”隐喻在表达形式上也体现出各自的特点。二、英汉“死亡”隐喻的表达都表现出文化一致性,由于人类的认识具有普遍性,所以造就了类似的死亡的意义表达。三、英汉不同的价值观和文化形成了英汉“死亡”隐喻的不同表达方式,也就是说这些不同的表达方式体现出英汉两族人民对待死亡的不同价值观。通过本研究,为英汉“死亡”隐喻表达共性和个性的研究提供了大量的证据,从而丰富了概念隐喻的研究。此外,作者期待对概念隐喻理论、死亡隐喻、英汉民族对待死亡的价值观有更深入的了解,并在一定程度上有助于英汉语言研究以及跨文化交际研究起指导作用。
