中英征婚广告语篇的对比研究 ——态度资源视角

在征婚广告发展如火如荼的今天,人们越来越重视征婚广告,并一度被认为是时尚“摩登”语。语言学家已经从不同的语言学角度对征婚广告语篇进行了大量的有价值的研究和分析,从而使其不断繁荣。然而很少有人从评价理论的角度对其进行研究。评价理论是在韩礼德的系统功能语法的分析之上,从功能语法中人际意义的研究发展起来的。词汇是评价理论主要的体现形式,作为人际交往话语语义研究的一个资源,评价理论本身包括:态度、介入和级差,而态度资源作为评价理论的核心,又由情感、判断和鉴赏三个子系统构成。随着评价理论的不断繁荣和发展,该理论已被广泛应用于多种不同类型语篇的分析和研究之中。本论文试图从一个全新的视角——评价理论的态度系统角度出发,探讨中英征婚广告语篇,研究在两种不同的文化背景之下,两国男性和女性各自在态度资源系统中倾向使用何种表达方式。通过对比分析研究中英两国征婚广告在态度资源中的分布状况,希望可以看到中英两种语言背后所隐藏的文化特征和差异,从而进一步挖掘中国社会和英语国家社会在文化、生活、思维以及世界观等方面的异同,了解这些不同对中西方跨文化交际顺利进行有着重要而积极地意义。此外,对中英不同文化价值的全面了解有助于人们的跨国婚姻。本论文的语料主要来源于中英两国具有代表性刊物中的征婚广告,其中中国源于两本知名的杂志——《家庭》(Family)和《知音》(Bosom Friends),抽取男性和女性征婚广告各25例:英国源于"Style",同样抽取男性和女性征婚广告各25例。论文收集了100篇中英征婚广告作为语料,对其进行了细致的定量和定性的研究分析。通过定量分析了解态度系统的子系统在中英征婚关告各自的分布情况,而通过定性的分析去挖掘在两种不同背景下的社会文化因素对各自的影响。论文由六章构成。第一章是论文的引言,具体介绍了研究背景、意义、方法和数据的收集,以及论文的整体结构。第二章是文献回顾,分别对征婚广告和评价理论中的态度系统进行了回顾,,同时还对前人的研究进行了评论以找出现在研究的空间。第三章是理论框架,介绍了评价理论的三个子系统,并且对态度资源进行了详细介绍。通过对态度系统的详细介绍,为接下来的分析研究做铺垫。第四章是对比研究,通过对所选语料的分析,精确地统计出态度资源在中英征婚广告中的分布情况,并进行详尽的阐释。通过数据统计,总结中英征婚广告的异同,从而挖掘其隐藏在两种不同文化背景之下的社会文化因素的影响。第五章,总结了本文的主要发现研究结果,同时也说明了本文的局限所在,并且提出了对进一步研究的一点建议。
